The Gallatin Canyon from Three Forks to West Yellowstone provides great hunting opportunities with the Madison Range to the west and the Gallatin Range to the east. It includes the Lee Metcalf Wilderness and Hebgen Lake. Set up your base camp in Three Forks, Manhattan, Belgrade, Bozeman, Gallatin Gateway, Big Sky or West Yellowstone. Flanked by the Absaroka Mountain Range to the east and the Gallatin Range to the west and with the Yellowstone River running through it, Paradise Valley is truly a hunter's paradise. Set up base camp in the valley from Livingston to Gardiner. Or head north from Livingston to Clyde Park and Wilsall and find your perfect base camp in the beautiful Shields River Valley with the Crazies Mountains on the east and Bridger Mountains on the west. Big Timber Area

The Big Timber area is great place for a variety of hunting opportunities. Set up base camp in Park City, Columbus, Reed Point or Big Timber, from the foothills in the east to the Crazy Mountains in the west. Or set up camp northeast of Big Timber in Rapelje with its prairie wetlands or south of Big Timber in McLeod along the Boulder River in the Gallatin Range. Or set up your base camp in Absarokee, Fishtail or Nye in the Stillwater Valley between the Gallatin and Custer National Forests and head into the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness. Selecting a base camp Beartooth area can be a dilemma. Do you set up your base camp along the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone in Bridger or Belfry? Do you set up your base camp along Rock Creek from Joliet to Roberts to Red Lodge? North of Red Lodge, Roscoe is on the north east edge of the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness makes a perfect base camp. And, southwest of Red Lodge at the other end of the Beartooth All American Road (seasonal) are Cooke City and Silver Gate at the southern edge of the Absaroka Beartooth wilderness and the northeast corner of Yellowstone National Park, great places for your base camp.
