For the experienced or the novice, the energetic or the relaxed, you'll find all levels of trails to choose from, so come outdoors and enjoy our natural beauty— on foot!

You'll find a stunning array of hiking trails in beautiful Gallatin County. Headwaters State Park, located near Three Forks, is a great place for a moderate hike while taking in beautiful scenery and learning a little Lewis & Clark Expedition history. In the Bozeman vicinity, head up Bridger Canyon to hike Mount Baldy, climb to the "M" or explore the Fairy Lake area. For a more leisurely pace, head up Hyalite Canyon and stroll up the Palisade Falls trail. There are many great US Forest Trailheads in Gallatin Canyon, including Lava Lake, Moose Creek & Beaver Creek. West Yellowstone's easily accessible Rendezvous Trail System is an excellent choice whether you are training for other outdoor activities or out for a stroll, brisk walk, or a short hike.

Following the Yellowstone River south from Livingston to Gardiner leads one right through gorgeous Paradise Valley, where you'll find some wonderful hiking trails, including Suce Creek, George Lake, North Dry, & Rock Creek to name a few. In northern Park County, the foothills and peaks of the spectacular Crazy Mountains provide an opportunity for hikers of all expertise levels to traverse trails such as North Rock Creek and Cottonwood.

Big Timber is a great starting point for many exciting hiking adventures in Sweet Grass County. Some of the trails you'll find include, Blue Lake, Fish Creek, and Green Mountain. With the Boulder Valley to the south, and the Crazy Mountains to the north, go exploring and you'll find the real beauty of Sweet Grass County!
