Boyd

Boyd

Boyd was named for John Roberts, a homesteader on rock Creek. The first post office was established in 1909, with Roland Doughty as postmaster. This area crops have an advantage of all the melting snow used from the Beartooth Mountains for its irrigation. Most of the farmers in this area are of Finnish descent and many have log homes with steam baths similar to the ones in Finland. Boyd serves as a trading center for grain, livestock, and sugar beets.
